A Lifesaver for International Distance Students
„My experience studying through the distance learning program at IU International University of Applied Sciences has been very positive overall. One of the biggest advantages is that it allows me to study within the German higher education system without physically being in Germany. This flexibility has been a real lifesaver, especially for international students who want access to a European education while living in another country.
Another strong point is that the university is accredited and the courses feel very current and relevant. The course content is not just theoretical; it is designed to prepare students for real-world situations. Many of the modules reflect what students will actually experience during internships and in professional environments.
I also appreciate the different exam formats used in the program. Instead of relying only on traditional exams, students complete case studies, advanced workbooks, written assignments, and exams. This variety makes the learning process more practical and helps develop real skills rather than just memorizing information.
It’s also great that internships are included in the curriculum. Having space for internships as part of the program helps students gain real experience and makes the degree more practical and career-focused.
One area that could be improved is opportunities for distance learning students to participate in exchange programs or more international collaboration. Because distance learners are not physically on campus, it sometimes feels like there are fewer opportunities to engage with programs that involve other universities or international experiences. Expanding exchange or collaboration options for distance students could make the program even better.
